KNOX CHURCH PSALMODY.

To the Editor. Sir,— l hope it is not out of phice for me to give vent to my feelings on the above subject through your columns. I have for many years been a member of Knox Church, and admired the custom of placing the names of the tunes before the congregation. Now, for some unexplained reason, this invaluable system of posting has befen' dispensed with, ‘ consequently preventing a certain portion of the congregation from taking part in the singing. Perhaps it is a new-fangled idea of our new gratuitous precentor, who thinks he does quite enough for “his money.” If so, I think the sooner he returns to the old style it will be the better and easier for himself, as it will enable the congregation to take part in the psalmody as well as the choir.— am, &c., Basso, Dunedin, October 23.
