FREEMASONRY.
To the . Editor. Sie, — In the Star of Friday you allnded to what pretended to be a report in the * Bruce Herald ’ of a lecture of mine on the above Subject in Miltpn. That report was an absurd exaggeration and base misrepresentation, both of me and all those present on that occasion. There were neither “rotten eggs ” thrown by those who attended my lecture, nor did I call them a “ruffianly crowd,” as they behaved ptoperly. I used some forcible expressions to some larrikins Who were creating noise outside the hall, which were absolutely necessary. Liberty of speech and Press should be secured to all on every subject. It is only by free discussion we can hope to arrive at the troth on any question—social, moral, or religious.—l am, &c., W.M.T. Dunedin, October 21.
