A Paris correspondent telegraphs that fresh disaster has befallen the Egyptian armies inAbyssinia, 15,000 Egyptian troops, under the command of Eani Pascha, were massacred by the Abyssiniaas, who afterwards proceeded to Massawah and seized the garrison. The officers escaped on board the ships in port, and arrived safely at Suez. The Ifyptian Government are contemplating revenge, and sending fresh troops. Cavalry and artillery are also being reorganised, but peace will probably be arranged. The ‘New York Maritine Eegister,’ August 29, reports that Quaker’s refined petroleum is rising fully eight cents per gallon. Mrs Bravo underwent a severe crossexamination by Mr Lewis in regard to the affection of her husband towards her. She broke out in hysterical sobs, and exclaimed, loudly, “I have been degraded and humiliated enough, Mr Lewis, and appeal to the coroner and jury, as gentlemen of Great Britain, to protect me.” She refused to answer any more questions. Great excitement followed. 4,000 miners at Leicester were thrown out of work in consequence of society movements.
