THE CAVERSHAM DRILL-SHED.
To the Editor. Sir,—By a paragraph which appeared in your issue of last-night, a " funny'' correspondent call attention to the fact that a large majority of the members of the late Caversham sub-division of the South District Rifle Rangers had agreed to hand over the Caversham drill-shed to the Road Board, iu trust, for the use of the inhabitants of the district, reserving its free use to any volunteer corps which might be hereafter formed there. Now, we are kindly informed that all this is to be put a stop to, by the formation of a new corps, and their taking possession of the shed vi et armie. The old volunteers will be very willing to give the use of thnr •hed in accordance with the above resolu tion; but they are not prepared to have it taken from them by force, as proposed by ■our funny friend. Any corps that might be got up in the neighborhood might just as well say : we do not require to build a drillshed, there is one standing empty at Caversham, let us go up and take possession of it. —I am, &c, Shot. Caversham, October 6.
