THE VOLUNTEER REVIEW.
To the Editor. ■ SIR, —The letter of "Volunteer," which appeared in your issue of last evening, is to my mind just the thing wanted. I have alao thought over the matter of starting art 5 a.m., and find that in order. to do so each man would be compelled to rise before 4 o'clock, which would assuredly be a most inconvenient proceeding. I heartily agree with all contained in the letter of "Volunteer," and do think that some provision should be made for Volunteers who have a desire to attend the review, but could not possibly do so if asked to. .proceed to duty at such an early hour. Many of our comrades live at a considerable distance from the City, and if a pass for Volunteers in uniform was allowed for the evening train before, I have no doubt but that many who otherwise would not go would avail themselves of the opportunity thus afforded. —I am, &c, Another Volunteer. Dunedin, October 5.
