INTERCOLONIAL NEWS.
Sydney, October 6. The Government intend to send extra police to attend the throwing open of the Yanko Reserves to the free selectors for election.
Arrived.—Hero, from Auckland. Melbourne, October 6. An assault case at the Melbourne Club between two gallant captains caused some sensation.
To-day another body and more wreckage were found at the Five Mile Beach.
Probate was applied for in the estate of G. B. Gordon, who jumped overboard from the Alhambra; but administration was postponed for two months as Gordon might possibly have been picked up. The s.s. Southern Cross broke her shaft and lost her propeller in a southeast gale off Cape Sehauk, and put back to Hobart Town.
