THE VOLUNTEER REVIEW.
To the Editor,
Sir, —Having -heard from good authority that it is the intention of the management of the proposed Volunteer review “to be held at Tokomairiro on November 9,” to sail out all Dunedin Volunteers at 5 a.m, to proceed to the scene of action per special train, I beg to suggest that some other hour he appointed, or that free passes be grant* d to any who may feel disposed to go the night before, provided they are in uniform, as i loam upon inquiry that very many of our Volunteers object to rising at such an unreasonable hour, living, as many do, two or throe miles from town. How, sir, I. think that if some little consideration of this point were made by the Managing Committee, a most successful and enjoyable result will follow, but if the present course be adopted the result will be an litter failure.—l am, &c., _ Volunteer. Dunedin, October 4.
