Mr Henry Driver (on behalf of the N.Z.L. and M.A. Co.) reports for the week ending, October 4;—
Fat Cattle.—There was a fair supply of 125 head of fair to good quality cattle yarded. The trade seemed more inclined to bid than was shown at the last sale, consequently better prices were obtained. We may quote the average price of best quality at sale to-day at 35s per 1001b. At the yards we sold twenty head on account ®f Mr W. Dunn, and have placed forty for private delivery. Pat Sheep,— The market was again well supplied with from 1,500 to 1,600 good quality crossbreds. The demand, however, was very dull, and late prices scarcely maintained. A portion had to bo turned out. Best crossbreds brought fr.mi 12s 9d to 14s, or equal to 2sd to 2fd per lb. At the yards we sold 4CO on account of Mr James Logan, at above Tales.
Stores.—We have no transactions of importance to report in sheep or cattle.
