RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Monday, September 25. (Before J. Bathgate, Esq., R.M.)

Judgment was given for plaintiffs by default in the following cases:—Huttou v. Kliza Brown, claim LI 6s, for board and lodging ; Cornish v. Beaufort, LI 9s 6d, for board and lodging; Douglas v. S. Moody, LI, for goods supplied. Smith v. Young. —Claim L 3 2s, for rent due.—Defendant admitted the debt, and judgment was given for plaintiff for the amount claimed, with costs.

S. Webb v. E. Philips.—Claim L 29 7s 6d, for work done.—Mr Denniston appeared for the plaintiff; Mr Bathgate for defendant. After a great deal of evidence had been taken the case was adjourned till Friday next.
