Sir,—l would like ttffask, through your 1 columns, that the Inspector of Nuisances at Port Chalmersshould; visit the place where the night-soil of, the Port is emptied, when he will find it is in very close proximity to arunning creek, the water of whioh several families have to drink, the consequence being when there is the least rain that the soil washes into the creek.

Trusting steps- may be taken to abate the nuisance, I am, &c,
