THE FIRE BRIGADES' DEMONSTRATION.

The following gentlemen have consented to act as a committee in connection with the above affair on Boxing Bay:—-Mr Geo. Turnbull, M.P.C., His Worship the Mayor, Mr Fraer (Mayor; of Lawrence), Mr &« Ramsay (President of the- Caledonian Society), Major Stavely, Mr A. fit; Jack (Chairman of the United Insurance Companies Association), Messrs J. Marshall, J. Wain, J. Dowse, H. Gourley, G. Young, R. H. Bailey, H. S. Fish, W. Woodland, J. T. Roberts, A. Grant, W. C. Kirkaldy, A. MKJregor, J. Edmonds, 8 t Clajton,. tt T. Dodson, W.'Hobbs, A. Bort, antfj. Stewart. Letters have been forwarded to the Mayors of Milton and Port Chalmers, also to Capt. Dale, of the Port Chalmers" Fire Brigade, but no replies have yet been received. A meeting of the oommittee will be held at. the Engine-station at two o'clock to-morrow for the purpose of drawing up a programme. It is th 6 intention of the Dunedin Brigade to invite brigades from Victoria, Tasmania, Sydney, and the whole of New Zealand. From the warmth withfwhich thei matter has been taken up by the public, as is represented by the very influential committee whose names appear above, there can bono doubt that the demonstration will prove an undoubted success. .
