Theprincipal scenes are laid in Philadelphia and New York, and we are told that the play when originally produced in those cities had a ran of 800 nights. In " Fidelia" Miss, Williams appears in no less than eight different characters, and she is given an excellent opportunity of displaying her voeal powers, while her clog-dancing, and banjo-playing gave great satisfaction to her audience. Mrs Hill as Zoe was all that conld be desired. Mr Saville, Fidelia's father, as the old Oalifornian who never forgets to look into his boots before putting them on, was very effective j Mr Clinton was the villain of the piece, and the crafty schemer was well represented ; while Mr Warde is deserving of praise for his rendering of the part of the friendless Joe, the tool of Winch in the earlier scenes, but who eventually manages to resist, the influence of -his criminal associate.. Mr Hooper was the hero of the piece, Fidelia's lover. The comic eement was well supplied by Messrs Giddens and Keogh. The management are to be complimented on the manner in which the piece is placed upon the stage—a fireengine, fully manned, having an excellent effect. The fire scene was also well managed. " Fidelia" will be repeated until further notice.
