: The following are the non-acceptors for the Melbourne Cup :—Richmond, Kingsborough, Haricot, Neotsfield, The Hook, Neredah, Athos, Brunswick, Leila, Politician, Tom Cat, Tom Kirk, Wongalere, Vibration, Artful Joe, Newcastle, Gratis, Duke, Waxy (1), Herschel, My Idea, Newminster (most probably Munster), and Big Ruby. [One or two of the names are doubtful, and the above cannot be considered reliable.}
