The amount of revenue received at the Customhouse on goods Bleared Cor consumption this day was L 2.234 17« 3d. Business during the week has been bettor. Prices nave generally been maintained. A few articles may be mentioned is being in demand. Cnrrauts have been a good deal sought, after, aud sales T-ave been made in lots at 4sd to 4f d; Henncssy's brandy may now be quoted in case at 313; bulk, 7s 6d to 7s 9d ; Busseilt's, 6s. Wbisiny bos been sold more freely. Candles we quote at 10d. Tea and sugar are moving off Blowly. Colonial produce iB in full supply, and rather easier. Cheese we quote at 9d to OJd, aud butter at Is 2d to Is 3d. Oats, on account of the bad state of the roads, are not coming in so freely, and there are several ord«rs in town for shipment coastwise and to Australia. Durinsr the week tho Norval, from London, and City of Caslunare, from Glasgow, have arrived with goneral cargo. THE LABOB MABKET. Mr Skene reports that all work out of doors is at a complete standstill, owing to the savere weather. Prospects are srood for ploughmen, couples, and all farm people. Female servants are in great demand, but experienced girls are scarce. The building trade is stopped. Clerks and shopmen are little needed—business houses do not increase their assistants at this season. Wages .• Cnupleß, L 65 to L 7 5; ploughmen, L 52, L 55, and Leo; shepherds, L6O and L 65; day labor at road, rail, andbuab, 7s, Bs, and 9s; house girls, 10s, 12s, and 15s per week ; hotel do, 12s, 15s, and up to 80s; boys and girls, 6s, 8-\ andlOs; carpenters, 10s, 123, and 13s; shopmen and clerks (ordinary), 30s to 50s; dairy hands, 15s and 255.
