Sib, —As a ratepayer arid as one who is anxious for the welfare of the Flat, 1 can confidently say that ninety or -ifiO w menf» ri ' bers of the- North -Ward feel very much aggrieved at the course taken by two of our ratepayers who were honorably nominated - in retiring in favor of Mr Baird, who, like' themselves, has never really appeared in: front of the ratepayers of North Ward. -Sir, , naturally the ratepayers ask .who is this' Mr Baird, or what has he done that he : solicits our favor for the honorable position that he wishes to aspire to. He has never spoken amongst us, nor has he explained his .views? oh municipal matters whatever. The in* : fetence is that' he is' surely afraid, or'he is : unfit. , Knowing that the electors of thisNorth Ward are already sensible to the fact . there can.be little hope of their going to tire poll on Tuesday to sell their own interests ■ m voting for .this unknown, or, in otherwords, to buy a pig in a poke.—l Ac., ; .
