THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.
.. - '... \■■. ■: To the Editor. Sir,—Permit me to nay that I see no reaaon should ba taken to the notice of the meeting of the Congregational Church published in the Star of the 31st. The facts are that the resolution adopted lay. the Church was drawn and proposed before Dr. Roseby said anything to the meeting, eo that it dould not havo been " baaed upon a confession of faith made by Dr Roaeby." The resolution, too, said "there is really no grour.d of complaint against the pastor, and expressed confidence in the soHndness of his Christian teaching." How- such a resolution conld have boon kased on a " confession" made after the resolution was drawn I fail to see. I also nake bold to say that the resolution which was carried unanimously after the " confea«on" would have been carried by a very largo majority if Dr Roseby had not uttered a word.—l am, &c., Another Member. Dunedin, July 28.
