We are compelled to hold over a quantity of local matter and correspondence. We have received several letters on various subjects, the writers of which have, however, not forwarded their names. The supporters of Mr Woodland's candidature for the Mayoral chair held a large meeting last night at their central committee rooms. Upwards of 100 electors were present, and Mr IT. S. Fish, jun., was called to the chair. Ward committees wore appointed, and the meeting separated after enthusiastically coming to a decision to work their hardest to return Mi- Woodland.
