Auckland. July 25. The Auckland City Weat polling has resulted—Tonks, 656; Farnall, 38 ; Kochfort, 13. The official declaration takes place on Friday.

Chkistchukch, July 25. The Acclimatisation Society voted a sum of money to-day for the introduction of bumble bees from England. In the Supreme Court to-day, in the case of Bush v. "Lightband and Allan, the plaintiff (who claimed L 2,000 damages) obtained a verdict for LSO for annoyance caused by great noises, and the smell of burnt leather from defendant's, boot manufactory. The verdict would have been greater, but defendants had considerably abated the nuisance complained of since the action was commenced. The manufactory is in the centre of the city.

Wellington, July 25. It is believed that alluvial gold has been discovered in a creek at Waimuomata, about ten miles from Wellington. The delegates of the Friendly Societies of Wellington met a number of the members of the House of Bepresentatives to consider the Friendly Societies Bill. The delegates undertook to prepare questions to be sent by the Government to, the various branch societies throughout the Colony in order to ascertain their exact views on the new Bill. The delegate societies will meet to-night, and decide as to what questions and suggestions regarding the new Friendly Societies Bill shall be submitted to the Government. Having decided upon these matters, they will be telegraphed free to all Friendly Societies, and the replies will also be franked. The results will then be submitted to the Government.
