Table A shows that the total amount of debentures in circulation is 117,484,761, and that the total debt of the Colony after deducting sinking fund is L 16,278,429. The anmial charge for interest is 1837.223; the sinking fund. 1116,056. The credit balance on June 30 iu the public account was 1552,494. Auckland contributed to the consolidated fund, 1302,704; Taranaki, L 14.187; Wellington, L 244.463; Hawkes Bay, 157,248; Nelson, 192,746; Slarlborough, 113,999; Canterbury, 1280,204; Westland, 148,898; Otago, 1520,986. Auckland contributed in stamp duties 118,750; Taranaki, 1,1,115; Wellington, 118,495; Hawkes Bay, 15,305; Nelson, 14,624; Marlborough, L 769; Canterbury, 126.163; Westland, 12,729; Dunedin, 133,452; Invercargill, 13,112. The imports for the year were 17,417,075: Otago, heads the list with 12,654,892; Auckland, 11,433,833: Wellington, 11,249,526; Canterbury, 11,331,876. The total ex. Sorts amounted to 15,651,658. Otogo returns 1,997,058: Canterbury, 11,477,281; Auckland, 1736,598; Wellington, L 765.057. During the year 331,917ez. of gold were exported, valued at 11,312,170. Auckland exported 65,7180z-.; Marlborough, 918oz.; Nelson, 81,9500z. -, Westland, 61,6400z.; Otago, 12L,6910z.; since 1858, 8,108,5290 a , valued at 131,593,579, were exported. Table H deals with the wool export, and shows as follows:

Only L 11.742 worth of flax was exported, and tkat principally by Auckland and Canterbury. Auckland capitation grant for the three months ending September next is L 16.146, calculated on a population of 80,779; Wellington, L 7.916, on 41,220; Canterbury, L15,35ft, on 81,891; Otago, L 20.976, on 141,875. The land contributions during the Tear were Auckland, L35,88t; Taranaki, L 18.913 L 52.484; Hawke's Bay, L 26.976; l<elson, L 29.964Marlborough, L 5,976; Canterbury, L 153.249; Westtend, LU.896; C'tago, L 292.927.
