The ketch Defiance, with cargo from Kakamvi, arrived yesterday. Tho kotch Alpha, from Moeraki, arrived yesterday afternoon, and passed the port to Dunedin. The ship Zuleika, in ballast, took her departure yearorday afternoon for Astoria, being towed clear ot chc land by the tug Geelong. The hrigantine KateJßrain, with a cargo of timber from Kaipara, arrived early this morning, and con. tinned her course to Dunedin with a light N.E. breeze. The p.s. Samson sailed this morning, with cargo and passengers for Oamara. WKECK OF THE COQ DU VILLAGE.

(From our own Correspondent.) Napier, July 24. The barque Coq du Village broke from her moorings at 3 o'clock to-day, and drifted on to Petane Beaoh. She is a total wreck. She had on board JOO tons of coals, c»nsigred to Mr Vautier, which was insured. The vessel belongs to Captain Wctherell, and was only half insured. The barquentine Falcon is drifting on shore. Sb« has on board the Napier Waterworks plant. The pilot and crew, with the rocket apparatus, hare gone to her assistance. The passengers are not yet landed, and great concern is felt, as the evening is uark and fearfully Btormy.
