Oamartj, July 19. A man named M ‘Menamiu was charged to-day with indecent assault on a woman named Janet M‘Laren, last evening. After a good deal of evidence had been given, the Bench committed the prisoner for trial. Bail was allowed.
July 20. At the District Court, Charles Mains, of Hampden, charged with assault with a knife on his wife, pleaded guilty. Hia Honor Judge Ward took into consideration the gross provocation prisoner had received, and sentenced him to two months’ imprisonment without hard labor.
Cormaek’s case, for a breach of the Machinery Act, has not come on yet.
