PARLIAMENT.

ABOUT THE LOBBIES.
Wellington, July 11. In Committee of Supply Sir George Grey will probably move that the estimates should be referred back to Government to reduce them by L 50.000.
Caucusing is pretty general. After all, Mr Wood's speech a few nights ago mdioates what will be the basis of the Opposition programme. Some en thusiastic supporters say that if Mr Macandrew and Sir George Grey come to terms re land, the defeat of the Government is certain, as eight Canterbury members have given in their adhesion. Sir George Grey will sit for Aucklaud West.
The Committee approves of the St. Kilda Municipality Validation Bill, and had added a clause appointing Mr I. N. Watt to adjudicate on the claims of the Caversham Road Board.
It is found tha.t Mr Stout's Local Option Bill should have been initiated in Committee, and to-morrow he will move accordingly.
