GREEN ISLAND PLOUGHING MATCH.

(Per Star Pigeon Etpren.)

The tenth annaal ploughing-match of ?the Green Island and Dunedin Ploughing Association was held this afternoon on Mr J. Ellwt'B property, Green Island, close to the sea-shore. There were in all sixteen entries, including six double furrows. The weather was splendid and the attendance fair. Work on the whole was excellent. Over L4O was given in prize-money, independent of special prizes. This is the largest amount of money ever collected in the district. Reid and Gray's ploughs are geatly admired. With the double-lorrow jading is making fine work, as is J. Cullen with the single. The match will be finished about five o'clock this evening.
