Vaorakcy.—The charge against John Coleman, remanded from yesterday, was again brought up for having no lawful meaus of support. Mr Lewis, who appeared for the accused, objected to his going into the prisoner's box, as he was there only to answer a chaigc—there was no information laid against him. —Tr-c objection was overruled.—Counsel askedjfor 'a remand, as his client had not consulted hiin until late last night, and he wished for time to bring rebutting evidence. —Their Worships thought from accused's statement the previous day that it was very easy to produce evidence to clear him of the charge, but granted a remand until Tuesday, allowing bail, accused in a surety of LSO and two of L 25 each. — John Warren, a Greek, and a powerfullybuilt man, was ckarged'with being a vagrant. Accused had been found on board the schooner Mary Allen, at Rattray street wharf, this morning, lying in the k capt»in's bunk. He also had appropriated some of the captain's clothing, the latter recognising the coat accused had on in Court as Lis.— Inspector Mallard informed the Bench that be was a bad character, and had undergone several convictions.—The Bench sentenced him to six months' imprisonment.
