THE WEATHER.
The heavy rains which have continued for the last two days show no signs of abatement, and already several portions of the district are under water.. ; Kensington, as usual, is well afloat. On both railway lines there have been several landslips. The Port morning train did not arrive at Dnnedin till two hours after time, and the noon train had to be suspended to admit of an engine being sent to Sawyer's Bay to clear the line.' On the Clutha line traffic had to be suspended beyond Green Island. At Milburn, Milton, and LovelTs Flat there were some heavy slips, completely blocking the line. We have not heard the extent of the damage on the Southland lines.
