THE WAIAREKA ACCIDENT.

Oamaeu, June 22. In the case of the Waiareka boiler explosion, John Cormack, one of the partners in the firm ©f Morrison and Co., was charged to-day, under the Machinery Act, with knowingly having permitted the boiler of the engine Rover to De worked at a pressure higher than was allowed by the inspector : to wit, 651bs. The case is still proceeding. The evidence is the same as given at the inquest. Mr Amos, the Inspector of Rolling Stock for the Provincial Government, stated that the steam gage often showed 20lbs when there was no steam in the boiler.
