Wednesday, June 21. (Before T. Birch, Esq., and C. Flexman, Esq., J.P.'s.)

Drunkenness. Michael O'Brien was fined ss, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment.—Helen Maitland was charged with being drunk and with having no lawful means of support. Prisoner had not been before tho Court for some months. There were a large number of convictions against her. She promised to leave the City if permitted.—She was discharged with a caution. Stealing from a Pcblichousk.—Jane Yates was charged, on the information of 'ohn Cumming, publican,,,with stealing a tumbler, his property.—Prisoner -went into prosecutor's hotel, and was supplied with a glass of beer. She drank the beer, put the glass into her pocket, and walked away with it. Prosecutor followed her and'gave her in charge.—Prisoner, who had an infant in her arms, said tbat she had three other children at home, and that her husband was working at the Peninsula.—She was diseharged with a severe caution. IlltreatlNO aHorsb.- John Vezey charged with illtreating a horse by working it while sore. Defendant was not present, but a person who appeared for him handed to the Bench a certificate from Mr Pritchard, farrier, that the horse in question had an old sore on its back, but that it was in a fit state to be worked.—Mr Sleftiuger, V .S., called by the police, said that thehorae was not fit to be worked, although hundreds of others equally as bad were constantly worked here. —lnspector Mallard directed the Bench's attention to defendant's contempt of Court by not appearing.—A fine of 20s and costs was inflicted. *
