SHOCKING DEATH OF AN ACTRESS.
Julia Bernard, a vocalist, danseuse, aud a very pretty giil, formerly well known ou the stage in the provincial towns of Western Missouri and Kansas, ended her career in a. tragedy on the stage in a Montana mining town a short time ' since. She was standing against a board while an actor was showing his dexterity in hedging her in by hurling knives against the board. Six knives had been stuck beneath each arm, just above each shoulder, at each side of the head. One more waited to be planted just above her head. The aim of the thrower was too low; the knife penetrated her brain, and the poor girl sank down to die on the stage.
