TROTTING MATCH.

(Pun Star Carrier Pigeon Express.) A trotting match for L2O a-side look place at the Forbury this afternoon between Mr S. Mercer’s g g Safety and Mr P. Barker’s b hj Tommy. The distance was twice round the tan, or about one mile and three quarters. Safety won all the way, never breaking once, while Tommy, who is a faster trotter, broke frequently. Time, 7mius. Safety, who is engaged in the Trotting Kacc on the Queen’s Birthday, was ridden by his owner, Tommy being steered by Mr J. Hastie.
