DEATH OF THE REV. F. SIMMONS.

Frank Simmons is dead. The first efficient Sector of the High School of Otago has gone to his rest. We should have been glad had his term of life been extended, for he was an able man and talented teacher—one who could be illjspared. The fates were against him; yet he has left his mark on society. His only fault, so far as Otago is concerned, was the expression of an opinion to an imprudent friend that was published and not forgiven by a portion of a sect. By those who had the benefit of his instruction his memory will be cherished.
