CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.

A letter was read from Mr Ffcfcer offeringvto "convey tCKSHerine street to the Board, which was accepted, the Board agreeing to pay the cost pf tranafer.--The Clork was instructed to write to Mr M'Cormaok, asking him to sign, a document agreeing to allow the contractors to proceed with the feotpath in Catherine street. - The clerk was also instructed to write Messrs Hyde Harris, Hugh CaldeV, and John Anderson, asking them to transfer the street in the townships of Kensington, Calderville, and St. Andrew's extension to the Board. The following tenders were accepted i-Wm, Cocks, for formation of. footpath through Caversham, at L3918|6d; P. K. Leyaen, for the formation of Alexandra street at L2l, and rotten rock for same street at 3s 3d per yard.—lt was agreed to spend on St. Pe.'er street whatever money Mr Feger may collect by subscriptions, to be handed to the collector. It was agreed to replace pipes in Cross street, at Kensington, and the Inspector was authorised to order drain-pipes for draining part of the Streets in Kensington, andtomako application to GfoVern. ment for leave to' open a crossing at Anderson's Bay road, so as to continue the drainage to the bay. A letter was read irqm the Under-Secretary, stating that the Superintendent wbb advised that he had no power to proclaim main district roads aa requested by. the Board, when it was resolvfed to c?ll a public meeting of the ratepayers in?the d<B. triot to consider the teply of the Undersecretary's letter and the action of the Provincial Government in this and other matters connected with the district. • .
