THE ANGLICAN CONGREGATIONAL AT ROSLYN.

To the Editor. ■ Snt, —A meeting of English Churchnaffi in Roslyn district was held on Friday, tiie sth inst.,_when the Chairman announced-that; in > reply to a Roslyn deputation, the" V«sfay of St. Paul's Church would not consent tsofEelp the Roslyn congregation in any way* ■•■ '•'•* Thiß is cool, to Bay the least Pf »t. r .We in Roslyn, living at such a distance frem the Sarish church, have a right to every consieration at the hands of our vestry, the more so as we were prepared to pay a .portion of the expense of niaintaining an assistant curate at St. Paul's, if necessary. The vestry of St. Paul's in this matter have certainly failed in their duty. I think there now remains for us.no alternative than to take the necessary steps, in accordancs>srith. the provisions of Synod, to separate from St. Paul's, and, have Roslyn constituted an independent parochial district.*?* We have a good site for f a church, paid for,

and in the centre of the towrsbip. Probably the sum of L6QO or L7OO would fcfsufficient to build a church to accommodate, say 200 people, and the building might be constructed in such a way as to admit of its being enlarged at some future time, lie churchmen of Roslyn, Linden, Kaikorai, Sunnyside, and Anderston should form a considerable congregation, and, with the site already paid for, I do not think there wo\dd be any difficulty whatever in obtaining the sum required for the erection of a church. Commending this matter to the consideration of the Hm people,—l am, &<*,, ! * > t ft ii Koslyn, May 13. . '
