Sydney, May 6. The Australia sailed for Kandavu at 3 p.m.
In the race Hewitt (England) v. Watson (Australia), the latter won by a yard. Sullivan was seen in Bailarat yesterday, and is supposed to have gCDe to Geelong or Melbourne. Mr Parkes states in the Assembly that New Zealand had all the advantage in the working of the local cable, without participating in the expense of another cable to Europe, as originally intended at the Conference. The Post-master-General denied the assertion, and said that the commercial result of the New Zealand cable would likely prove of great benefit to this Colony. A disturbance has occurred between European and Chinese miners at Berlin rush, Victoria, and the former threatened to burn the Chinese camp. Brandy, bulk 7s, case 30s.
