THE FIRE BRIGADE.

To the BdUor.

Sir,—Whilst t fully appreciate the action of the Brigade in sending over a detachment to Ballarat to take part in the demonstration there, I think the selection of men Bhould have included their secretary and enginekeeper, than whom no one more deserves tha holiday which the trip means. K my memory serves me right, Mr Robertson has been connected with the fire service of thia City for thirteen years and has never had a holiday of any kind. Seeing that seven men have been chosen, I think Mr Robertson would complete the full complement, and I am sure all firemen, past and present, will agree with me that a most valuable man he would prove himself at the competition.—t am » &c., Old Fireman.
