MAILS CLOSE. Per Colima, Thursday, May 4:— Northern Ports of New Zealand, Fiji, Sandwich Islands, America, West Indies, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, via San Francisco, at 1.30 p.m. Late letters hearing one additional single rate may be posted until 2 p.m. For issue of money orders and posting of registered letters, and newspapers, at 11.30 a.m. Southland. —Per Express, on Thursday, May 4, at 11.35 p.m. Timaru, Aeaboa, Lyttelton, Christchuech, and Westland.— Per Wanganui, on Friday, Hay 5, at 4.5 p.m.

London (for letters specially addressed only).— Per Oamar j, on Friday, May 5, at 6 a.m. Northern Ports of New Zealand.— Per Taranaki on Friday, May 6, at 1.50 p.m. Per Arawata, on Monday, May 8, as under-

Direct mails for India, China, Japan, Penang, Singapore, Manilla, Aden, Mauritius, the British, French, and Austrian Post Offices at Alexandria, Malta, Gibraltar, Brindisi, France, Ac., at 12 noon.
