(From our own Correspondents) Lawrence, April 28. A fire broke out at the Victoria Hotel last night at eight o’clock. The band was passing down the street when a child residing in the hotel rushed to the window ■with a candle, setting fire to the blind. An alarm was at once given and the flames extinguished before much damage was done. The Brigade mustered quickly, but their services were not required. The action of the Waste Land Board has given great satisfaction here.
