Patrick Kennedy, Charged With deserting his Wife and family, pleaded not guilty, from the evidence of Margaret Kennedy, it appeared the accused left her in February last to seek employhieiit,- during which time he had left her without means fif Support, and accused returned home on Tuesday lllght without any money. Accused, in defence, stated he had been Unable to get work or to obtain his quarter’s pension, which he was quite willing to hand over to his wife.—Hia Worship remanded the accused upon his own recognisances until to-morrow to afford him an opportunity of procuring his pension, CIVIL CASE. G. Starky, V. M: th, This was a fraud summons for L2 16s and costs. The defend - ent was ordered to pay L2 on the 4th May, and the b 'lance on the 4th of Juno, in default three weeks’ imprisonment.
