Mr Ormond, Superintendent of Hawke’s •Bay, has found himself in a difficulty. Mr Calcutt then jumped up and said he was not the individual who had, appertained. the amount of the award, but his Honor • remarked that Mr Calcutt had the presump-' tion to ask him yesterday What : amount would be given, though without getting satisfied. He (his Honor) would not think of acceding to such a request, and whatever member of the Court had divUlg d the amount had committed a great wrong. Mr Haggitt said Mr Calcutt merely wanted the information to telegraph to head-quarters, but that it was hot that gentleman who had ascertained the amount of the judgment.
