Railway Compensation.— Thomas Calcuttlv. Wm, Grey.—The plaintiff required one rood, more or less, the property of the plaintiff, and beingport of section 11, block 11., in the township of Waihola, for railway purposes. Mr Haggitt appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Strode for the defendant.—The plaintiff offered £l5O, aid the sum demanded by the defendant was £250. —Several witnesses were! examined on each side.—The Court awarded £l5O compensation, the.defendant to pay the, costs ,in accordance with the Act. Friday, March 31. Calcutt \. Hepburjv— Judgment was to have been delivered id this actiottiwhis morning, hut as Mr Haggitt did not appear, and as his Honor said some doubt might be expressed as to the clear reading of the 3tth section of the Act under which costs were fixed, judgment was deferred till 11 o’clock to-morrow, when the point will be arguOd.
