The amount of revenue received at the Customnouse on goods cleared for consumption this day was 1776 6s Bd. Mr James Milner to-day sold at the Provincial Government Buildings the leasee of the Balclutha ana Waikouhiti tolls for the ensuing year, at the following pricesßalclutha, L 650, Mr F. Bassett: waikouaiti, L 620, Mr Duncan Smith. The prices obtained last year wereßalclutha, L 610; Waikouaiti, L 750. Mr HOnty Driver, on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., reports for the week ending March I:9th Fat Cattle.—lis head were yarded, of ordinary quality. This number being a short supply were all laiien by the trade at fully late quotations. Best bullocks brought from L9lO to Ll3 each; do, cows, L7to HO 10s. At the yards and privately wo have sold, during the week, 45 head. Wo quote prime beef at about 30a per 1001b ; medium, from 25s to 265. Fat Calves.—Oniy about 15 were penned, which sola at 15s to 65s eaoh, according to quality. Fat Sheep.—A moderate supply of 1,200 penned, of which wore sold at fully last week’s prices—eay, 2sd to 2|d for cross-breds, and 2id to 2td for pnma morinoes. At the yards and privately wn have sold 600 at above rates. o.£ ftt ,£ aTnbs wero P Buned and. seld at from 5s 3d to 10s, according to size and quality. We sold 60 at above prices. Store Cattle.—We have no alteration to note in the value of this description of stock. Well-"rown quiet bullocks and cows are in demand at late ouotations. - -
Stove Sneep.—From good flocks, not exceeding 2-tooth, continue very saleable, and dnriug the week wo have phmoi 9,000 at prives quoted beW 9d; do. 2 tooth, 7s 6d to 7s 9d; do lambs, at from 6s to 7s. Merino wothers, 2, 4. and 6-tooth, 5s 6d £°, 63; d ,°’ full-mouthed, 8s to Sued; merino ewes, 2. 4. and 6-tooth, 6a to 6s 6d; do, full-mouthed. 2s 6d to 3s. Hides are dull at late rates, medium quality soiling from 16s to 19s ; inferior, life to 15s, or equal to 4d per lb for wet salted. Tallow.—We placed a fow casks at last week’s rated, 28s 6d, for fair country rendered. Grain.—Wheat: Prime milling is in fair demand at 4s 6J. Deliveries are still small. Oats are much sought after. Good feed (npw),lslOd to Is lid; milling, 2s. Considerable shipping orders are wait, ing at the out-ports, which would be executed here if our local farmers would supply the marmot. Barley is dull, brewers only purchasing for immediate working-, anticipating large supplies, but as it is well by growers that a large portion will be unfit for malting purposes, good bright samples will command good values. We quote 4s Gd for fair malting to 5s for very choice.
