A STRANGE CASE.

A subject that has been attracting the public mind in Christchurch of late, is the case of the boy Kent, heard and decided upon before Judge Johnston, whereby an infant named Edwin Charles Kent, aged ten years, was ordered to be delivered over to the custody of the father as apart from that of the mother. Both parents are living separate from each other. The former is a painter living in Christchurch, whilst the mother resides in Timaru. The mother is of the Roman Catholic faith, whilst the father, who has been to all intents and opposes of the same denomination, is now a Protestant, and desires to bring his child up as such. After the order was made by the judge, the child suddenly disappeared, and has not since been recovered by the father, and his solicitor has intimated through the public Press of Christchurch that anyone harboring bixh will be prosecuted. It is, of course, surmised that a certain religious party, has the boy in his keeping.
