AMUSEMENTS.

THE OPERA. At the Queen's Theatre last evening “Martha" was played for the second time to a very good bouse, and tho performance was, perhaps, the best the company has yet given. Madame Simonson has recovered from her cold, and was thus enabled to do fall justice to the airs falling to the lot of Lady. Henrietta. Her acting in the assumed character of Martha was very natural and appropriate. Mdme. Simonsen and Miss Lambert (Haney) received a round of applause for their joint singing and acting in the scena in the first act winding up with the duet, “ Really, this is quite distressing." The fair scene went very Well, the choruses being es puciaily well rendered. The music in the second act, wliich is full of melody throughout, was most excellently snug, the fine voices of Signor Morley and Mr Bairiugion telling with effect in the “Spinning-wheel" quartette. Mdme. Simonsen created almost a furore by her tastefnl rendering of “The last Rose of Summer," and the concerted piece, “ Sweetly sleep,” brought the most successful act of the opera to a close amidst great applause. In the third act Mr Barrington gave the dnnking song with spirit and effect. The sensation of the performance, however, was Signor Motley's flue delivery of “ She appeared," he being in magnificent voice and singing with great power. Signor Morley was compelled to respond to a torrent of applause. The quintette at the end of this act was also admirably given, and k likewise was encored. The opera) was followed by a grand ballet by the Leopold family, which was srreatly appreciated by the audience. To-night “Lucrezia Borgia" will be performed for the first time.
