CAVERSHAM ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of this Board was held on Thursday evening in the school-room, when there were present, Messrs. Sutherford (in the chair), Bridgman, Jackson, U’Een, Brady, vyilson, and Carey. A long conversation took place in reference to scarletfever in the district, and it was agreed to report to the .Central Board of Health in reference to the matter. It Was decided to write to Mr Blair, district engineer, intimating to. him that the Board intended to cat a ditch to the railway crossing, and requesting him to proceed with the proposed flood gate at Anderson’s Bay Boad; also to write to the Caledonian Society and the Church Trustees, informing them that the Board intend cutting a ditch on the Bay side of Anderson’s Bay'Boad, and asking them if they would contribute towards filling up the ditch on the inside of the road on these properties. It was also resolved to write to. the Mornjpgton Boad Board that if they opened a road from the Glen to the Main South Boad, and put it in proper order, this Board would keep and maintain* it.—A letter was received from the Town Clerk of South Dunedin, requesting the ditch on Macandrew Bond to be scoured out, This communication was referred to the Inspector, to be reported on, It was decided tßat a culvert should be put on St. Hilda Boad at the railway crossing by day labor. Mr U’Een gave notice that, at next meeting he would propose to borrow LSOO for drainage purposes at Kensington. The Chairman agreed to wait on the Board’s solicitors in reference to the opening np the streets at Kensington for laying gaspipes, and also to call on the Mayor of Dunedin about the cleansing of the ditch at the Beoceation Ground.
