VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The Volunteer representatives were present at a cavalry tournament yesterday, and last mght attended in force the ball given in their honor by the townspeople of Wanganui. Tonight they were to be brought down to Wellington by the p.s. Manawatu. The Southern representatives leave Wellington to-morrow by the Ladybird, Which is dne here bn Friday. Some very tall shooting has been made at Riverton in the competition for district prizes. The top scorer is Color-sergeant Acbeson, who qualified to represent the district at Wanganui, but was unable to go. His total score of 77, out of a possible 84, baa not, we think, been excelled in the Colony.
