March 4.—Hooii • Belle, ketch, 38 tons, Cowan, for Catling River. 1 1 The schooner Crest of the Wave arrived yester* day atternoon from Waikonaiti, having been unable to discharge the whole of her catgo of timber through the state of the bar. The Albion Company’s 8.6. Taiaroa returned from her usual tnp to Timaru .at 6 this morning, and steamed alongside the ship Oamorn to discharge gram. She left Port Chalmers at 8 p.m. on the 2nd; arrived at Timaru at 5.30 a.m. on the 3rd; took on board 58 bales of wool, 191 bags of grain, and other cargo, and left at 7.30 p.m. Had strong S.W. winds to arrival.

She left Lyttelton at 7.30 p.m. on the Ist iust, : Akaroa at 6.30 on the 2nd; Txmaru at 3 p.m. on the 3rd, arriving as above. \ *The N.Z.SB. Ca.’s s.s. Our telegrams from London to-day mention the loss ‘on the Black Gang Chine, to the south Isle of Wight, of the ship Glenlora. We have not been able to ascertain whether she was homeward bound (though we presume she was) or her destination, If our memory serves ns right, she made her first voyage to Now Zealand in' January 'of last year, her destination being Auckland, where she armed at dusk on the''evening of the sth and, it will be remembered', was for some hours mistaken for the Cospatriok—indeed, one of the local journals actually reported the latter’s arrival. j he Glenlora'was a Liverpool iron-built ship of 764 tons, AAI at Lloyds, and belonged to Shaw, Seville, and Co. s fleet. g|he was then commanded by Copt.
