During the gale she shipped a heavy sea, which slashed in the starboard bow, filled the galley, , ht' °ther damage. . The gale moderated on the 12th, and shifted to the N.W.: made the oolanders on the 13th, with a heavy N.W. gale, which moderated at noon ; came through Poveaux Straits same night. Had S.W. winds with heavy ram along the coast to arrival. The schooner Mary Ogilvie arrived at the Heads psterday afternoon from Greymouth, hut owing ''mi heav y S.W. wind she anchored outside. The barque Prospector, with a cargo of cools from Newcastle, was towed up last evening by the tug Geelong. She left Newcastle On the evening of the 12th; had fine winds to arrival.

‘Wellington, February 21. —The steam-hopper Sunjner put in here to-day, after having been within a hundred miles of Lyttelton. She is one of the three boats intended for dredging that port. She loft Glasgow on the 7th August last, and called in at the following ports on her way to coal Gibraltar, Malta, Port Said, Suez, Aden, Point do Galle, Singapore, Somerset (Torres Straits), Cooktown, Brisbane, and had to put back to the latter place ten days after leaving it. She will proceed to Lyttelton after taking in thirty tons of coal. Wellington, February 22.—Arrived: Ship Warwick, from L'.udon, 99 days out, and 81 days from land to land. Had a fair weather passage. She brings 47 passengers (all well), and 30 prize Lincoln sheep for Mr Walker, of Waikato. Timaru, February 22.—Arrived, C a.m.: Taiaroa. from Port Chalmers.
