_ Palmerston, February 21. A large number of people were present today at th“ taming of the first so of tho Kartigi Railway. The Superhrend nt went through the ceremony at 230 p tn M and was followed by Mr A'k-o, Mayor of Palmerston, and Mr M'Kenz'e, M.P.C. Th ? Superintendeat was greatly cheered on his arrival on the Sound. He attended a luncheon at Crawford’s otelthis afternoon.
