HARBOR BOARD.
A special meeting of the Harbor Board was held to-day to open tenders received for an iron hull to the steam dredge ew ra. There were present—the Superintendent (in the chair), Messrs Davie, Reid M Neil, and Tewsley. The Secretary stated that no tenders had been received since last meeting The following tenders were then opened: R. S. Sparrow and Co., 1.7,657 7s —work to be completed within fourteen mouths from date of acceptance of tender. A deposit cheque forLl92 18s 6d was enclosed. Kincaid rnd M'Queen, L 7.875 18s—eight months. Deposit cheque for L2OO. Sparrow and Henderson, L7.88G 12s—time required not specified. Deposit cheque for L 197 3s. Jas. Davidson and Co., LB,9so—three months to elapse between cessation of work on the old dredt>e and commencement of work on the new. No deposit. The whole of the tenders were referred to the engineer.
