Electioneering agents tax their ingenuity in the manufacture of electioneering ‘ ‘ squibs, ’ ’ The following from the ‘ Thames Advertiser ’ are not bad samples “Keep your eye on the two knights, Sir George Grey and Sir Julius Vogel.”—“Miners attend! There are four knaves in the pack : Knave of hearts —Sir George Grey I Knave of diamonds— Sir Julius Vogel! Knave of spades--Mr William Rowe! Hearts are trumps ; choose the right and left hoiovrs, and euchre the others. Vote for the two knights !” On the evening of the Ist 111st. Mr T, L. Shepherd is going to enlighten the Blue Spur people on the action of the late Parliament in connection with the goldfields. In a communication on the subject, Mr Shepherd says : “I am desirous of saying farewell politically to the goldfields, and I do not think I could select a more suitable place than the Spur, where I have always received a cordial reception and appreciation.”
