RUSH NEAR SWITZERS.
One of these once common, but now r re, occurrences in connection with the development of theOtsgogoldfields—a rush—isreported to have taken place within the past few days to ground situated in the vicinity of Switzers. Writing on the 19th insfc., the ‘Tuapeka Times’ correspondent states: Some time ago, what is designated as a water-wheri claim was smarted for prospecting purposes at Winding Creek, near Simpsons store. After the ground had been opened out, it became known as the Cock-and-Bully ciaim. A few weeks since they succeeded in bottoming. Not being satisfied with the result they drove some 40ft in towards the base of the hill, when their labors were rewarded with 2ft of washdirt which yielded at the rate of a pennyweight to the dish. Twelve claims have since been taken on the lead.
